A History Of Design
Founded in 2006, by acclaimed designer and St. Catharines native, Michele Auger, whose work has been featured in Style at Home Magazine and Niagara Magazine; she is regularly a guest in Canadian media, offering expert commentary on all things design.
The Company delivers high-end Interiors, furniture, paint, window & wall coverings and fabrics that are creative, innovative, bold and affordable. Finesse shows customers that good design is not exclusive to urban centres and doesn’t need to be over-priced or over-the-top.
When Michele began to search for a studio location, she knew she wanted a downtown site that would allow her to revitalize the area and bring her style and ability forward by being her own best client. But when she found 89½ Geneva Street, St. Catharines, it was love at first site.
Constructed for the Salvation Army in 1915, the building remained an operating church until purchased by Auger in 2006. The interior suited her vision perfectly: lots of character in its vaulted ceiling, antique lighting fixtures and light-filled space, with plenty of room for the studio. The building sits in one of St. Catharines’ safe but aged neighborhoods, making the space a haven and sanctuary, emphasizing the studio’s high creative energy and almost bohemian vibe.
